PROPERTY INCOME (D.4)

4.41 Definition:

Property income (D.4) is the income receivable by the owner of a financial asset or a tangible non-produced asset in return for providing funds to, or putting the tangible non-produced asset at the disposal of, another institutional unit.

Property incomes are classified in the following way in the system:

  1. interest (D.41);
  2. distributed income of corporations (D.42):
    (1) dividends (D.421);
    (2) withdrawals from income of quasi-corporations (D.422).
  3. reinvested earnings on direct foreign investment (D.43);
  4. property income attributed to insurance policy holders (D.44);
  5. rents (D.45).
